Denis Lanteigne<\/strong> est originaire de Caraquet. Il obtient son baccalaur\u00e9at en psychologie de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Moncton en 1973. Il poursuit ensuite des cours d\u2019arts graphiques, de sculpture et de photos au coll\u00e8ge de Bathurst pendant deux ans.<\/p>\n

Lanteigne s\u2018installe ensuite \u00e0 Montr\u00e9al en 1982. Il travaille dans le domaine de la chapellerie. Les styles, teintes et tissus le conduisent a\u0300 fabriquer des objets tridimensionnels ce qui le m\u00e8nera \u00e0 poursuivre sa d\u00e9marche vers des objets d\u2019art.<\/p>\n

En 2003 il ouvre un atelier \u00e0 Caraquet et travaille sur divers projets sculpturaux et photographiques. Lanteigne produit des installations ext\u00e9rieures depuis 2011. Il est pr\u00e9sident du Groupe Existe, un collectif d\u2019artistes. Il dirige la Galerie d\u2019art Bernard-Jean<\/a> du Centre culturel de Caraquet. Il a si\u00e9g\u00e9 au CA de l\u2019AAAPNB, d\u2019artsnb et de la Commission des infrastructures culturelles de Caraquet.<\/p>\n

La face cach\u00e9e du Soleil: m\u00e9tamorphoses duales<\/h2>\n

La face cach\u00e9e du Soleil: m\u00e9tamorphoses duales est une installation ext\u00e9rieure qui porte sur la transformation des choses et le passage du temps. Pour se faire, des miroirs refl\u00e8tent le passage du Soleil sur la fa\u00e7ade nord d’un \u00e9difice. Deux dispositifs compos\u00e9s de miroirs projettent des formes g\u00e9om\u00e9triques a\u0300 une heure fixe.<\/p>\n

\u00c0 midi, un premier dispositif forme un losange qui se d\u00e9formera durant l\u2019apr\u00e8s-midi. Le second dispositif, trace juste \u00e0 c\u00f4t\u00e9 et au m\u00eame moment, une figure diffuse qui deviendra un rectangle au fils des heures.<\/p>\n

Au cours du long trajet, les deux figures se transforment simultan\u00e9ment et s\u2019inversent. L\u2019une se d\u00e9compose tandis que l\u2019autre devient de plus en plus pr\u00e9cise. Il s\u2019agit d\u2019une m\u00e9taphore de la nature ou\u0300 se succ\u00e8dent les cycles de vie et de mort.[\/wpcol_1half_end][:en][wpcol_1half id=\u00a0\u00bb\u00a0\u00bb class=\u00a0\u00bb\u00a0\u00bb style=\u00a0\u00bb\u00a0\u00bb]\"Denis<\/p>\n

Hailing from Caraquet, Denis Lanteigne obtained his bachelor\u2019s degree in psychology at the Universit\u00e9 de Moncton in 1973. Then he took courses in graphic arts, sculpture and photography at the community college in Bathurst for two years.<\/p>\n

In 1982, Denis moved to Montr\u00e9al where he worked as a hatter. Immersed in different styles, colours and fabrics, he started creating three-dimensional objects, which led him to further his journey toward making art pieces.<\/p>\n

The artist opened a workshop in Caraquet in 2003 and worked on various sculpture and photography projects. Denis has been creating outdoor installations since 2011. He is president of Groupe Existe (a collective of artists), manages the Bernard-Jean art gallery<\/a> at the Caraquet Cultural Centre, and sits on the board of directors of AAAPNB, artsnb and the Caraquet Commission for Cultural Infrastructures.<\/p>\n

La face cach\u00e9e du Soleil: m\u00e9tamorphoses duales<\/h2>\n

The outdoor installation La face cach\u00e9e du Soleil: m\u00e9tamorphoses duales [The hidden side of the sun: Dual metamorphoses] deals with the transformation of things and the passing of time. Mirrors reflect the sun as it passes over the north facade of a building. Two devices composed of mirrors project geometric shapes at a fixed hour.<\/p>\n

At noon, the first device forms a diamond that will lose its shape in the course of the afternoon. The second device traces, right beside and simultaneously, a fuzzy figure that transforms into rectangles as time passes.<\/p>\n

During their long trajectory, the two figures simultaneously transform themselves and switch sides. One dissipates while the other becomes increasingly sharper.
