On retrouve dans son \u0153uvre une r\u00e9f\u00e9rence au cycle naturel de la vie sous le th\u00e8me du d\u00e9c\u00e8s, de la transmutation et du d\u00e9racinement dans ses diverses guises. Elle s&rsquo;inspire surtout des sciences naturelles, de d\u00e9pouilles, de la mythologie, de la danse, et de r\u00eaves.<\/p>\n<p>Sonja travaille le dessin surtout en s\u00e9rie et cr\u00e9e \u00e0 partir de fusain, de mine, de crayon a\u0300 l&rsquo;huile et inclut le collage. Son \u0153uvre 3-dimensionnelle est souvent <em>in situ<\/em> faisant partie de projet de re\u0301sidence et conc\u0327u a\u0300 partir de mat\u00e9riaux naturels et en forme organique.<\/p>\n<p>Dipl\u00f4m\u00e9e d&rsquo;Emily Carr Institute of Art &amp; Design, Sonja a particip\u00e9 \u00e0 des r\u00e9sidences d&rsquo;artiste en Europe et au Canada.[\/wpcol_1half]<\/p>\n<p>[wpcol_1half_end id=\u00a0\u00bb\u00a0\u00bb class=\u00a0\u00bb\u00a0\u00bb style=\u00a0\u00bb\u00a0\u00bb]<\/p>\n<h2>M\u00e9andre<\/h2>\n<p>Pendant son s\u00e9jour au Parc \u00e9cologique du Mill\u00e9naire, H\u00e9bert natte des tresses vivantes \u00e0 grand format sur le terrain \u00e0 partir de gramin\u00e9es sauvages qui poussent dans le parc. Ces tresses sont cr\u00e9\u00e9es sans arracher la gramin\u00e9e. L\u2019herbe demeure enracin\u00e9e dans le terrain bien qu\u2019elle soit remani\u00e9e et entrelac\u00e9e, lui permettant ainsi de continuer son cycle naturel.<\/p>\n<p>H\u00e9bert est convaincue que la survie humaine de ce mill\u00e9naire de\u0301pend de la volont\u00e9 d\u2019intimement connaitre le terroir de notre environnement. L\u2019action de natter l\u2019herbe est une fac\u0327on pour elle d\u2019entamer un premier rapport physique avec ce terroir. Her artwork reflects the natural cycle of life through the themes of death, transmutation and displacement in their various forms. She is particularly inspired by the natural sciences, different kind of remains, mythology, dance and dreams.<\/p>\n<p>Sonja draws mainly serially using charcoal, graphite and oil sticks, including decoupage. Her 3-dimensional pieces are often made in situ as part of projects related to her residency and made from natural materials and organic in form. A graduate from the Emily Carr Institute of Art &amp; Design, Sonja has participated in residencies in Europe and Canada.<\/p>\n<p>[\/wpcol_1half]<\/p>\n<p>[wpcol_1half_end id=\u00a0\u00bb\u00a0\u00bb class=\u00a0\u00bb\u00a0\u00bb style=\u00a0\u00bb\u00a0\u00bb]<\/p>\n<h2>M\u00e9andre<\/h2>\n<p>During her stay at the Millennium Ecological Park, Sonja will braid large plaits from the wild grasses growing in the park, without uprooting them. Although reorganized and interwoven, the grasses will be able to continue their natural life cycle.<\/p>\n<p>Sonja is convinced that the survival of humankind in this millennium depends on the will to know intimately the land that surrounds us. Braiding grasses is a way to initiate a first physical contact with the land.
